Fall Chilson Pond Races

This is the annual hovercraft races held on Chilson Pond at the Brighton State Recreation Area! Come enjoy the beautiful fall Michigan weather and some fast-paced hovercraft action!

Weekend Schedule

Friday

(3:00p - 6:00p) - Race Site Setup

Saturday

(9:30a - 12:00p) - Registration & Safety Inspections

(11:00a - 11:30a) - Drivers Meeting (required to race)

(11:30a - 12:00p) - Practice Session

(12:00p - 1:00p) - Lunch Break

(1:00p - 5:00p) - Racing Session (at least 3 heats of racing)

(6:00p - 7:00p) - Dinner and Awards

Sunday

(10:00a - 10:30a) - Drivers Meeting

(12:00p - 2:00p) - Endurance Race + Additional Heat Racing

(2:00p) - Race Site Teardown

Camping

Most participants stay at the Bishop Lake Campground just down the road. Camping spots often get reserved quickly, so plan on reserving in advance!
