Fall Chilson Pond Races (Updated Event w/ Registration!)

This is the annual hovercraft races held on Chilson Pond at the Brighton State Recreation Area! Come enjoy the beautiful fall Michigan weather and some fast-paced hovercraft action!

Weekend Schedule:

Friday

(3:00p - 6:00p) - Race Site Setup

Saturday

(9:30a - 12:00p) - Registration & Safety Inspections

(10:00a - 10:30a) - Drivers Meeting (required to race)

(11:00a - 12:00p) - Practice Session

(12:00p - 1:00p) - Lunch Break

(1:00p - 5:00p) - Racing Session (at least 3 heats of racing)

(6:00p - 7:00p) - Dinner and Awards at race site pavilion

Sunday

(10:00a - 10:30a) - Drivers Meeting

(10:30a - 11:30a) - Open/Endurance Race

(11:30a - 1:00p) - Race Site Teardown

Registration & Meals:

Register for the event here on the Hoverclub website! You can register each craft that plans to race as well as a Saturday lunch and Saturday dinner. 

How to register:

Ticket types are broken down by...

1) Do you plan on having a racing hovercraft 

2) If you want Saturday lunch and/or dinner provided

Here is an example:

I plan to bring 2 racing hovercrafts and 3 people who will race those 2 hovercrafts. I would also like all 3 people to receive a lunch and a dinner.

How to register:

You will need to make 3 separate registrations for each person, but only 2 of those need to be for a racing hovercraft.

Overnight Accommodations:

Camping

Most participants stay at the Bishop Lake Campground just down the road. Camping spots often get reserved quickly, so plan on reserving in advance!

There are several hotel options in the Brighton area. There are no specific group rates setup with any of the local hotels.
