We're trying a new location this year!!
The White River cruise is a yearly event that has always been held just north of Noblesville, Indiana. Several people have asked me if we could try a different section of the river for some variety. So this year we are going to cruise a very interesting section of the White River inside the city of Indianapolis.
This location happens to be where we test all of the Hoverstream
machines produced, as well as do training for the majority of customers. First off, at normal river levels this section is very shallow with lots of sandbars so it's not very good for boats. I rarely see anyone else there. Second, it has a great boat ramp and parking lot that easy for any experience level. But most interestingly, this section is beautiful. I frequently see bald eagles and other wildlife. You'd never guess you're in the middle of a city!
This cruise is much shorter than the last one at only 25 miles or so round trip with a dam on each end. However, the plus side is that the turn around point is right next to Broad Ripple (the hip part of Indy). We will park and walk to an amazing Belgian brew pub called Brugge which will possibly be the best place you've ever visited. Brugge was making their own brews many years before it was the huge fad that it is now and they really know what they're doing!
I'll probably need to make reservations SO PLEASE PRE-REGISTER SO I CAN GET SEATS RESERVED!
The cruise officially departs at 11:00.
Post Cruise BBQ at Hoverstream/Slipstream Shop:
After the cruise we will all head to the NEW shop for Hoverstream and Slipstream. There we'll do testosterone building activities like look at tools, poke around hovercraft projects, drink beer, listen to music, and grill meat. Everyone is welcome including families and kids if you have them. Mine will likely be there as well.
Random details and accommodations:
There are a wide variety of craft at the event and all types of machines are welcome. We typically have Scats, Neoterics, Hovertechnics, Sevtecs, and various homebuilts, so no one will ever feel out of place. However, standard HCA safety rules will be enforced, particularly with regard to guarding.
The evenings are always a good time with plenty of socializing over BBQ, drinks, and music on site. Also, there is plenty of parking for trailers or RV's at the shop, and anyone is welcome to camp if they wish. This is in Indianapolis proper so countless hotels are available everywhere.
If you have any questions, please contact Jason Kuehn. Hope to see you there!
