Hoverclub of America Awards

All club members are eligible to receive an award in the following categories:

Hovernaut of the Year

The Hovernaut of the Year award is presented to a club member each year, in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the sport of light hovercraft and service to the Hoverclub of America.  

 

The Hovernaut of the Year is nominated and voted upon at the annual membership meeting.  If you are not able to attend you may nominate a club member by emailing your nomination along with any necessary supporting documents to club secretary Chris Chapman at cchap32@gmail.com.  The due date for email nominations is August 31st.  Last year’s Hovernaut of the Year was Bob Windt of Cordova, IL.  For a list of past award winners click here.

 

Quality Construction Award

The Quality Construction Award is awarded to recognize and celebrate a club member that has demonstrated high level of quality and building skill throughout the construction of a plans or kit built hovercraft.  The award may also apply to the restoration of an existing hovercraft.

 

To be judged for the Quality Construction Award,  make sure your hovercraft is available for judging on the ramp from 3:30 – 5:30pm the Saturday of the event.  If you are not able to attend you may nominate yourself by emailing your nomination along with any necessary supporting documents, photos, and/or videos to club secretary Chris Chapman at cchap32@gmail.com.  The due date for email nominations is August 31st.

 

Technical Innovation Award

The Technical Innovation Award is awarded to recognize and celebrate an individual member, group of members, or member hovercraft company that has introduced noteworthy innovations in hovercraft technology that advance the hovercraft sport.

                                               

To be judged for the Technical Innovation Award,  make sure your hovercraft is available for judging on the ramp from 3:30 – 5:30pm the Saturday of the event.  If you are not able to attend you may nominate yourself by emailing your nomination along with any necessary supporting documents, photos, and/or videos to club secretary Chris Chapman at cchap32@gmail.com.  The due date for email nominations is August 31st.

 

Judges for the QC and TI awards consist of a panel of board members, distinguished members, and past award winners.
