This event takes
place every year in beautiful Lowell, MI. at the site of
the Lowell 4-H fairgrounds on the Grand River.
About the Event:
The Lowell Hover-in is fast becoming one of the
largest and most anticipated hover-ins in the midwest. Coming
on the heels of the Island Lake Rally and the August Muscoda
cruise, the Lowell Hover-in provides an opportunity for
Hovercraft enthusiasts to come enjoy a relaxing weekend
of cruising and fellowship. Located on the Grand River,
Lowell is located centrally between Grand Rapids and Lyons,
MI. This Hover-in gathers many hovercrafters from the state
of Michigan as well as neighboring states, and people arrive
from as far away as Kentucky and Pennsylvania to take part
in this event.

Schedule of Events:
On Saturday we will cruise upstream 24 miles to the Dam
at Lyons, then stop at Ionia for a quick walk to the Chinese
buffet for lunch. After lunch we will depart for the return
trip to Lowell for a refueling break, then we will cruise
29 miles downstream to the dam in Grand Rapids and back,
for a total of 106 miles. On Sunday we will organize a timed
slalom skills competion in the river with prizes handed
out.

The Dam at Lyons provides an opportunity
to test your courage. We DO
NOT recommend that you try this!!

Unique to this Hover-in, is the participation
of our friend Ron Miller and his rescue Air boat (which
has been used numerous times for rescuing hovercraft)

Lodging Information:
Camping (tent or motorhome) is available right at the launch
site. The only expense is $15 camping fee per night. BBQ,
hot dogs and a bonfire are provided Saturday night. The
fairgrounds have bathroom and shower facilities available.
